  1. What is concierge physical therapy?

  2. Can I see you without a referral from my doctor?

  3. Do you take insurance?

  4. Can I submit for reimbursement?

  5. What programs and payment options do you offer?

What is concierge-style or direct primary care physical therapy?

Traditionally concierge medicine refers to a model of healthcare which allows for more personalized care and better access to the healthcare provider. This ensures that the providers caseload is lower and they are able to spend more attention and time focusing on this caseload. The focus of a concierge-style physical therapy practice is on injury prevention and movement optimization rather than on retroactive care and rehabilitation of injuries that keep occurring.

Benefits of concierge care include easy scheduling, one-on-one focused care, no waiting times and even the option for home health visits.

Can I see you without a referral from my doctor?

Yes, absolutely! In the state of New Jersey, individuals are allowed to see a physical therapist directly without a referral from a doctor. Certain private insurance companies and federal programs like Medicare do have some rules with getting a referral, however, since Focused Physio is a completely out-of-network provider, you are able to to book an appointment and be seen right away, saving you time and worry!

Do you take insurance?

You don’t want me to “take your insurance.” Trust me.

If I “took your insurance” I wouldn’t be able to:

1️⃣ Work with you 1-on-1

2️⃣ See you for a whole hour

3️⃣ Have the option for longer sessions if you need it

4️⃣ Have time to actually LISTEN to you tell your whole story

5️⃣ Be able to see you for as long as you need to get your symptoms resolved so that they go away AND stay away

6️⃣ Have time to get deep into all of the different aspects of your life that may impact your symptoms

And selfishly, I wouldn’t be able to 7️⃣ Love my job

I’ve worked in a model where we were a slave to insurance - limited visits, endless progress notes, appeal letters, third-party auditors, “peer-to-peer” reviews (with someone who has never met or worked with the patient), denials despite all that time and effort to avoid it ... all the NONSENSE. That’s not why I went into PT.

I got my doctorate in PT to help patients and improve lives. I opened my own business because I believe that my patients should be my primary focus, not their insurance company.

And guess what…many patients actually save money, time and feel better faster with this approach since we can reduce visit numbers and you’re not stuck paying for copays and meeting your deductible before you get coverage anyway (those expenses can add up fast).

Every session I choose to focus on my patient first and getting them the results they need, not on what the insurance company would approve. Make sense? Book a discovery call or let us know if you have any additional questions.

Can I submit claims for reimbursement?

Yes! Per request, we are able to provide a detailed receipt, super bill and supporting documents at the end of treatment that you can then send to your insurance company or FSA account for reimbursement.

Once the document is created, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company for next steps on submitting the super bill for reimbursement. All insurance companies operate a bit differently and reimbursement depends on your plan coverage, deductible and other factors. Please note that the act of submitting this documentation DOES NOT automatically guarantee reimbursement. You can also check out the Reimbursify app on your smartphone if you want to make it a more seamless experience.

What types of programs and payment options do you offer?

Focused Physio has a variety of flexible payment options to fit your goals and budget. We accept all major credit/debit cards, cash and personal check. Please read our options below to see which kind of program is right for you. For full pricing and payment information, please discuss with Dr. Levine during a free discovery call.

SINGLE VISIT - Physical therapy evaluations, treatment sessions and maintenance visits can all be scheduled as single stand-alone services. This is the option for you if you are looking for intermittent consultation or a routine physical health and movement check-up. However, for acute/chronic injuries or post-surgical conditions, we highly recommend utilizing our package or membership rates for best value and long-term results.

PACKAGES - We offer customizable visit packages depending on your condition starting at 6 session packages. The higher the bundle package, the greater the discount per visit. All packages include a full evaluation session and remaining follow-up sessions and re-evaluations. Once purchased, you have the flexibility to schedule based on your plan of care and do not have to worry about paying at the beginning of each visit. We also offer the ability to transfer treatment sessions to a friend or family member if your recovery is speedier than expected.

CLASSES - Specialized classes are available and can be tailored towards the specific health and wellness needs of small or large groups. We currently have programming for balance and mobility, new and new(ish) parent classes, and deskwork defender classes that are a fun alternative to your standard gym class and combat some of the major areas that we see causing pain and dysfunction in patients on a daily basis. We are open to input on ideas or areas that you’d like to target with a group class as well, so feel free to contact us. These are great as a baby-shower present, corporate wellness event, or a random excuse to do something active with your friends.

CONTINUITY PACKAGES - Want to ensure that you are able to continue to progress and prevent injury in the long term after your initial concerns have been addressed? We can keep optimizing your performance and helping you achieve your long term goals by signing up for regular check ups throughout the year so you can avoid setbacks and reduce your risks for pain and injury. We’re playing the long game!
